Important Considerations

Flower Types and Colours

The most popular flower types for weddings are roses, peonies and hydrangeas. Both artificial and fresh flowers come in a wide range of colours – from whites and pastel pinks to dark reds and lilacs. If you are after something unconventional, then you can choose toffee, blue, grey or even rainbow-coloured flowers. Gerberas in white, yellow and red with their darker centre make a playful addition. For greenery, eucalyptus, ferns and ivy work really well. For those who love boho style, pampas grass adds an ethereal feel to the bride’s image and your event. Budget

When thinking about the costs, allocate around 10-15% of the whole wedding budget to flowers.

Fresh, Faux or Preserved

  • Fresh flowers are by far the best way to elevate your wedding. Unfortunately, cut flowers are a problem if you have hayfever, plus they wilt and get thrown away after 3-5 days. There is also the added cost for the florist's time and equipment, as fresh flowers have to be kept in a cooler until the event, and transported to the venue to be setup on the day by the highly skilled team of floral designers.

  • Faux or silk flowers are a mass-produced product. Being sturdy and cheap, they have their advantages, however their impact on the environment cannot be underestimated.

  • Preserved flowers are freshly cut flowers that have been put through a process of replacing their sap with a glycerin-based solution. This removes pollen and extends plants' lifespan by up to 50 times, but the flowers still look fresh and supple. Preserved wedding flowers are very photogenic, won't make you sneeze, and won’t wilt or drop their heads, as they do not need a water source. All bouquets and arrangements can be made well in advance and delivered to your home or directly to the venue - ready to use, with minimum setup efforts. Your flowers will look fresh for the whole day on your wedding day, and then for up to 12 months after. Real flowers, real beauty - none of the fuss!
